October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is breast cancer awareness month. It is the most common cancer in Australia for women and affects 1 in 9 women by the age of 85.

It is an opportunity for us to reflect upon our health and make time for body awareness. Checking your breasts regularly is important to allow for early detection of the disease and a better prognosis. If you should notice any changes to your breasts then call your doctor for further investigation. Changes may include thickening to the skin, unusual lumps, and discharge from the nipples or any painful spots.

Allow this month to make time for yourself and get active about your health. Prevention is always better than cure. Osteopathic medicine can be accessed for musculoskeletal health checkups and to give you an opportunity to discuss any concerns about your health. Call Zeinah today to make an appointment.
